Peshawar. A suicide blast took place in the Jamia Masjid of Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khattak in Nowshera, as a result of which 4 worshippers including Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani were martyred while many others were injured. The suicide blast took place in the front rows of the mosque after Friday prayers.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah and IG Police Zulfiqar Hameed confirmed that Maulana Hamidul Haq was martyred in the blast. According to eyewitnesses, 4 bodies and 20 injured were brought to Qazi Medical Hospital Nowshera.
Maulana Hamidul Haq was the son of Maulana Samiul Haq
According to DPO Abdul Rashid, the blast was a suicide attack. The deceased Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani was the son of the late renowned religious scholar and political leader Maulana Samiul Haq and the head of JUI-S. After the suicide blast, ambulances and rescue teams of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and shifted the injured and the bodies to the hospital.

Emergency declared at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar after the Akora Khattak blast. According to the spokesperson of Lady Reading Hospital, the administration and medical staff have been instructed to be ready to treat the injured. The spokesperson says that the hospital is on high alert to deal with any situation.
The target of the attack was Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani

According to IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, an alleged suicide attack was carried out after Friday prayers at the Jamia Haqqania mosque Akora Khattak. IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has said that the target of the explosion was Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani. He said that 25 police personnel were deployed in the mosque at the time of Friday prayers.
IG KP said that 6 police personnel were deployed for the security of Maulana Hamidul Haq. A search operation was launched in the area, while teams from the Bomb Disposal Unit and CTD reached the site of the explosion in Akora Khattak and conducted an investigation. It should be noted that Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khattak is one of the largest madrasas in the country.
