Dubai – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has awarded a significant honor to Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. Ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy, the ICC has presented Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi with honorary caps for being named to the 2024 T20I Team of the Year and ODI Team of the Year, respectively.
Upon receiving the honorary caps, both cricketers expressed their happiness and thanked the ICC. They also posed for a photo wearing the caps.

Shaheen Shah Afridi shared, “I have collected quite a few ICC caps, and now here’s another one. This cap is very important to me because the series we won in Australia and South Africa were far from easy.”
Last month, the ICC announced the teams for all formats in 2024, featuring cricketers who delivered outstanding performances in the previous year.
