India’s streak of losing tosses began in the 2023 World Cup final, where Rohit Sharma lost the toss against Australia. This was followed by a three-match series against South Africa, where KL Rahul, leading the team, lost all three tosses. During a series in Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma once again lost three consecutive tosses, and in a home series against England, he suffered the same fate in three successive matches.

The streak continued into the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai, where Rohit Sharma lost the toss against Bangladesh in India’s first match, followed by another loss against Pakistan. With this, India has surpassed the previous record held by the Netherlands, which had lost 11 consecutive tosses.
