Dubai – After losing the match and a key player getting injured, the Pakistan team has now been penalized as well. In the opening match of the Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand, a fine was imposed on the Pakistan team.
Pakistan was penalized 5% due to a slow over-rate. The team bowled one over less than the required quota within the allotted time. According to ICC regulations, players are fined 5% of their match fee per over for slow over-rate violations.
Pakistan’s captain, Mohammad Rizwan, accepted the mistake and acknowledged the penalty.
