Karachi: In a warm-up match of the ICC Champions Trophy, South Africa defeated Pakistan Shaheens by three wickets. The Proteas successfully chased down the 323-run target in the 49th over, losing seven wickets along the way.
Four South African batters scored half-centuries, with Peter Mulder playing a crucial unbeaten knock of 42 runs off 30 balls, hitting three sixes and three fours.
For Pakistan Shaheens, Mehran Mumtaz and Niaz Khan took two wickets each.
Batting first, Pakistan Shaheens posted 322 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Captain Muhammad Huraira starred with a brilliant century, scoring 112 runs with 12 fours and one six. Imam-ul-Haq contributed 98 runs off 94 balls, hitting six fours and a six.
Peter Mulder was also effective with the ball, taking three wickets, while Marco Jansen claimed two dismissals.
