Lahore – Former West Indies fast bowler and renowned commentator Ian Bishop has stated that there is no better host for the Champions Trophy than Pakistan. He expressed excitement for the tournament, expecting excellent performances, as many superstars will be playing in the Champions Trophy.
Bishop praised Pakistan, mentioning that he has visited the country for commentary during several series and has witnessed the love and passion for the game here, which he described as exemplary.
Former South African cricketer JP Duminy and New Zealand bowler Tim Southee also mentioned that they are looking forward to the tournament in Pakistan.
Duminy said he had visited Pakistan for the 2018 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and was happy to see the Champions Trophy being held in Pakistan.
The Champions Trophy will begin on February 19, with the opening match between host Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi. The event will feature 8 teams, with a total of 15 matches to be played.

The tournament’s matches will take place in Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, with all stadiums already renovated. However, all of India’s matches, including any potential semi-final, will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The Champions Trophy will be divided into two groups of four teams each. The group stage will continue until March 2, with semi-finals scheduled for March 4 and 5. All matches will begin at 2:00 PM Pakistani time. It is worth noting that the New Zealand team had already won the Tri-Nation Series in Pakistan before the Champions Trophy.
