Dubai: Indian young opener and vice-captain Shubman Gill has said that Pakistan is a good team, and unfortunately, they lost their first match, but Pakistan is not a lesser team.
Speaking to the media ahead of the India vs Pakistan match, Shubman Gill stated that encounters between the two teams are always major events for the fans. However, as players, their job is to perform on the field, while the media tends to hype up the match, which is beyond their control.

Shubman Gill expressed his desire to score a century against Pakistan, though he aims for a big score in every match. It is worth noting that during the 2023 ODI World Cup, he managed to score only 16 runs against Pakistan before being dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi.
He further added that on Dubai pitches, a score of 280 or 300 is quite good, and there is no need to take unnecessary risks since ODIs provide ample overs. Staying at the crease naturally leads to runs.
Gill also remarked that the India vs Pakistan match does not make a difference to them, as they strive to win every game. He acknowledged that while there was no dew in the previous match, batting was still challenging. However, rotating the strike would make winning easier.
