Champions Trophy: Pak vs Bangladesh Match Canceled Due to Rain
Continuous rain in Rawalpindi prevented the toss from taking place, and with no break in the downpour, the match was eventually called off.
As a result, both Pakistan and Bangladesh were awarded one point each. However, both teams had already been eliminated from the race for the semi-finals.
As defending champions, Pakistan had suffered defeats in the group stage—losing their first match to New Zealand and their second to hosts India. With two consecutive losses, Pakistan had already been eliminated from the tournament before their final group match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, which was ultimately washed out due to rain. With the match canceled, Pakistan exited the tournament without securing a single victory.
Among the eight teams in the tournament, batters from all other seven teams managed to score at least one century, while no Pakistani player reached the milestone. From Group A, India and New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals, while Pakistan not only got knocked out but also finished last in the group due to a poor net run rate. Bangladesh, with a relatively better net run rate, secured the third position in the group.
