Karachi – A grand opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy was held at the National Stadium Karachi before the match between Pakistan and New Zealand. The Pakistan Air Force’s flying past captivated the spectators.

Before the match commenced, a spectacular aerial display was presented. A large number of cricket fans were present at the National Stadium to make this historic occasion memorable.

The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, was the chief guest on this occasion, accompanied by First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the distinguished guests and briefed them on the renovation efforts undertaken at the National Stadium.
Before the opening match of the Champions Trophy, the national anthems of both participating countries were played.
Former Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who led the team to victory in the 2017 Champions Trophy, was specially invited to the event.
During the opening show, aircraft performed a special march past, leaving the cricket fans in awe.
