However, Australia, powered by Josh Inglis’s remarkable century, chased down 352 runs with 2 overs to spare, setting a new record and surpassing England’s feat on the very same day.

On the other hand, South Africa secured a dominant 107-run victory over Afghanistan in their opening match. With Ryan Rickelton scoring a stunning century and crucial half-centuries from Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, and Aiden Markram, South Africa posted a strong total of 315 runs. Afghanistan, in response, was bowled out for 208 in the 44th over. Ryan Rickelton was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
