Karachi – Former Pakistan captain Baber Azam is determined to make the Champions Trophy 2025 a memorable event on home soil, emphasizing that while much has changed since 2017, their determination remains the same.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, Babar expressed excitement over hosting an ICC event in Pakistan after a long time, saying that everyone is thrilled.

Recalling Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy triumph, he highlighted Fakhar Zaman’s century, Mohammad Amir’s spell, and the thrilling final moments as some of his best memories.
Baber noted that many things have changed in the past eight years, but a few players from that squad are still part of the team. He added, “It’s a great feeling when the team relies on you. I always try to give my best in every match.”

The former captain dismissed any pressure, stating, “I’m not under any pressure. The past is behind us, and we are ready for a new challenge.”
He also pointed out that Pakistan will have the advantage of playing on home ground, saying, “Cricket unites everyone in Pakistan, and the entire nation prays for our victory.“
